2017 Box Office Predictions

by TheMovies101 | created - 10 Dec 2016 | updated - 10 Dec 2016 | Public

Here are my predictions for the 2017 highest grossing films and just to note that I will include Domestic Grosses and Overseas Grosses as well. The list will be in Worldwide order though.

And just to say these predictions may not be true I mean look at 2016 with Batman V Superman we all though that could make all the money and cross 1 Billion easy but it couldn't even reach 900 Million so these guesses may not be true.

Anyway lets crack onto the list and see...

Domestic Gross: 590 Million Overseas Gross: 1.232 Billion Worldwide Total: 1.822 Billion

Not much to say here I can just tell that this is going to the be highest grossing film of next year I mean The Force Awakens crossed 2 Billion and Rogue One looks like it could do well and besides it's Star Wars.

2. Les Gardiens de la Galaxie Vol.2 (2017)

Domestic Gross: 453 Million Overseas Gross: 877 Million Worldwide Total: 1.330 Billion

Guardians Of The Galaxy was probably the biggest surprise of 2014 I mean to think that it didn't feel like any other Marvel movie by having 70s/80s music, a frickin tree and racoon and the fact this came out the same year as Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

But what do you know it opened higher than most other movies of the MCU and grossed 773 Million Worldwide.

As most sequels to MCU movies come in normally they do tend to gross 1 billion eg: Iron Man 3 and Civil War. Especially if they cross over 700 million.

So this is definitely gonna pass 1 Billion.

Disney's live action remakes have made bank recently I mean who knew that The Jungle Book was going to nearly pass 1 billion. Anyway didn't the trailer broke the record for the most amount of trailer views in 24 hours right?

So therefore I wouldn't be surprised if this actually reaches 1 billion.

Beside Beauty And The Beast is like one of the most beloved Disney properties.

PS. Good luck remaking Lion King Disney....

Domestic Gross: 399 Million Overseas Gross: 681 Million Worldwide Total: 1.080 Million

This would have been much higher on the list if it wasn't for Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Martha being so bad wouldn't it huh?

I can actually see this not making 1 billion at all but I put it at 1 billion because it's a Justice League movie.

Anyway I don't know if this will be good or bad yet so we will have to wait and see but right now I can see this failing like Dawn Of Justice.

How did Minions become the first the first non Disney animation to cross 1 billion?

I think they're fine animated movies and I don't mind them but they make tons of money. Personally I don't think this will outgross Minions because of marketable the Minions are but definitely the previous Despicable Me films and definitely has a 1 billion shot.

These movies have seemingly gotten better since Fast 5 personally I think Fast 5 in the best.

Furious 7 grossed at 1.5 Billion 8 probably won't reach 7 but still will make 1 billion most likely.

Each Spider-Man Movie has at least grossed more than 700 Million but with this one the Spider-Man in the MCU this may pass any entry in the Spider-Man series as this is practically the version of Spider-Man we all asked for as Spider-Man was perfect in Civil war.

Also the trailer looked epic and the cast looks solid.

If this is like The Amazing Spider-Man, Spider-Man 3 or The Amazing Spider-Man 2 then this will be a huge disappointment.

I don't want to stay too long on this one but as a transformers movie it will make bank no matter what with a somewhat decent trailer I still think it will fall into the category of bad transformers movies. May not as bad as Age Of Extinction or Revenge Of The Fallen but still going to be either Bad like 2 and 4 or OK like 1 and 3.

9. Thor: Ragnarok (2017)

The Thor movies are the weaker point of the MCU and remember how I said that most marvel sequels reach 1 billion well this one may not as the Thor Movies aren't exactly beloved by everyone.

Plus completion for this movie looks kinda rough with Justice League opening not long after this.

Good trailer but going to be bad is a common thing for DCEU Movies I mean look at Dawn Of Justice and I haven't seen Suicide Squad yet.

A lot of people of course liked The Lego Movie and this is a Lego version of Batman so this has lots of potential to be a Worldwide hit plus it has very little competition well ok its going to be released the same day as John Wick: Chapter 2 and Fifty Shades Darker so yeah some competition for this one but still the other two movies I mentioned aren't on this list yet are they?

Whoa that trailer was dark for a Pixar movie. I feel like this one might make up for Cars 2 and become like the best Cars movie but I think that the first Cars is sort of underrated I wouldn't put it on a top 10 best Pixar list but I think it deserves a bit more credit than it normally gets as for Cars 2 um yeah definitely the worst Pixar movie out there.

The trailer got me way hyped than I was before and hopefully this won't disappoint.

I can see this performing a bit of an Ice Age: Collision Course you know where the previous films kept making more money despite the actual movie itself getting worse and worse but then the fifth film fails and just kills the franchise.

Despite a somewhat decent trailer this is my guess for Pirates 5.

I'm not sure if 505 Million is right for this movie I mean it does come out around Episode 8s release so it could fall flat like how The Peanuts Movie came out around The Force Awakens release.
